Patrick's bike overhauled and ready to go.

Our bikes are "old-style" steel frames, 7-speed freewheel hubs with 48-spoke wheels and cantilever brakes. It is getting harder to find parts, but with the help of the internet we were able to stock-up on most items we think we are going to need. Care packages with parts will be waiting for us in Capetown and Bangkok.

Rachel's bike is a Davidson, built in Seattle, she bought for her 1992-93 solo ride in New Zealand and Australia. Then joining Patrick in Africa and Western Europe.

Patrick's bike is a Vittorio, built in Holland, for his 1992-94 RTW trip. These bikes have been on all our trips.
