Day 8: Fir Creek Campground to Dispersed Camping
Six miles from Lowman
"If I'd known this side had burned, we would have look to camp before the summit," Patrick says and continues, "I don't want to camp amongst burned trees." The plan is to get to the other side of the summit and find a camping spot. We didn't realize that this was going to be difficult to find.
The ride through Bear Valley is beautiful, the surface good for us in most places. The road is barely uphill until the last 3 miles that become steeper. And then a steep downhill.

About 6 miles from Lowman is a marked dispersed campsite. There is a camper there, Patrick talks with the folks to check if is ok for us to share the site. "As long as there are no fireworks and gun fire, ok," the man says. We promise to be gone in morning before they expect another group of their friends to arrive.
Today's ride: 31 miles (50 km)
Total: 349 miles (562 km)
