In Saint-Jean-de-Luz

We didn’t do much today because we both needed a rest. Breakfast is included in our room rate, so we ate at the hotel and eventually headed out for a walk with our swim stuff in the backpack. We decided to head towards Fort de Socoa but only got as far as Plage de Ciboure.  We both went for a swim in the Atlantic so we can tick that off the list—or go again in the next few days. We only lasted an hour on the beach because we both burn easily, there was no shade, and it was approaching noon. Time for a room picnic and siesta.

We had hoped to go for another swim this afternoon or evening but the forecast clouds and drizzle have arrived. So we made do with another afternoon walk around between rain showers had passed. We found a local bike shop, Bizicleta (I like the name), but we don’t need anything.  I want a quality souvenir cycling jersey, but they only had men’s. Oh well, my wallet is happier that way.

Steve Miller/GrampiesNice wide shot - did you shoot this as a panarama?

Jacquie GaudetTo Steve Miller/GrampiesNope. I shot this on my Olympus camera with its usual aspect ratio, then processed it in Lightroom—including cropping from top and bottom.

On the shared pedestrian/bike path. It seems they can get some big waves here.

Old fortifications. Against winter storms, perhaps?
