In Murillo de Gállego

Rest Day!

Today was a well-earned rest day. I’d created a route for a day ride, should we be inspired to get out, but we didn’t. We’d already been through Agüero, though we didn’t get off the main road, and we could see Mallos de Riglos well enough from Murillo.

So we enjoyed the hotel’s breakfast spread, walked around Murillo, taking advantage of the many benches provided to sit and admire the view or just relax, had a nap, and cleaned our bikes. The bikes were filthy after yesterday’s unpaved adventure and we found a hose around back of the small hotel.

Bit of a photo dump:

Breakfast at Hotel Reina Berta.

Jacquie GaudetTo Bill ShaneyfeltIt was a large plant, but not the giant one we saw occasionally by the side of the road.

Murillo seemed to have more cats than people. We watched these kittens for a few minutes

We were surprised that the tiny village of Murillo de Gállego had its own manhole cover design

Bill ShaneyfeltEither peaches or almonds... Later, peaches will be more spherical and almonds will become thinner and wrinkly

That said, I would currently slightly more toward almonds.

Jacquie GaudetI was guessing almond. There were many of these trees in the village.

Oh yeah, it was Al’s 66th birthday too.

Dinner was similar to the night before, though it seemed less substantial to me, perhaps because we hadn’t had lunch. One difference was that we exhibited some restraint and didn’t drink the entire bottle of wine (white this time).

No candles for the birthday boy!
