Toulouse at night
With so many bars and restaurants there had to be a vibrant night life in Toulouse, the question was, would we be able to stay up long enough to get out and enjoy any of it?
After dark on those warm evenings, the streets were full of people and we felt completely safe wandering. We happened upon a couple of places for a pre or post dinner drink, made a point of going back to Quai des Savoirs for the light show and admired the bridges lit up from the riverside. Plans for dinner at a restaurant on the last night were changed when the lady at the fish market said we just had to come back there for the "nocturne", a twice a year event when all the stalls are open in the evening, serving food. This occasion was the display of the World Cup of Rugby. Good thing Ann was in charge of schedules so we got there in time to get some food, wine and a spot at a standing table before being engulfed in people. We ate, drank, chatted, people watched and wished we were staying longer. A perfect ending to a marvellous tour of France and Spain.
