Bergerac

A relaxed day off the bikes to enjoy the medium sized town of Bergerac, known for its old town’s half-timbered buildings. Hope you enjoy the pictures we’ve taken on our walk about town this afternoon.

Bergerac from the bridge which was finished in 1825.

Cyrano de Bergerac. Although he has two statues and is a main attraction for tourists to this town, the character in the Rostand play is based on a Cyrano from the Bergerac estate just outside of Paris.

The Maison des Vins and Information centre are housed in the Cloître des Récollets, a 17th-century cloister. The inner courtyard has dramatic, wooden sculptures by local artist , Yann -Eric Eichenberger.
