More Bari

On our second day we walked the water front and into the newer parts of town.  This place clearly has a fishing history.  Again this afternoon we went back into the old town which is the most interesting.  On Sat 9 November we had another relaxed day in Bari and we are now pretty much adapted to the time change so we are ready to go.  While enjoying some wine from the shop right beside our flat we had a lovely conversation with 3 Italian men from northern Italy who were here for the weekend.  They were 2 lawyers and an architect who brought up the subject of the US election.  They were as befuddled as us about the result.

The water front with a local fisherman coming into dock his boat.

We went to a take out place for lunch and these sandwiches were very popular, not by us.

There was a world press photograph exhibit at the theatre. This one displays a man and his grandson standing where the shore used to be when the older man was a boy. It is now chest deep in water due to climate change.

The winning photograph of a Gaza woman grieving the death of her niece. They had moved out of Gaza as recommended by Israel but nonetheless they suffered death from bombing raids.
