Bill ShaneyfeltIn '69 and '70, when I bike commuted along the canal between Phoenix, where we lived, and Tempe, where I worked, the canal maintenance road was all dirt. But way better than riding in heavy traffic!

Janet Anspach-RickeyTo Bill ShaneyfeltIt was mostly paved today. They still need to put in underpasses or overpasses to cross the busy roads on the west side. They have some built on the east side near Scottsdale and it's so nice to not have to try to cross the traffic.

Bill ShaneyfeltThere was no established trail there when I went to ASU, let alone a wide paved one!
