Sep 23 - Bitterroot Trail and Missoula

Today was and is a special day, Happy Birthday #62 to the PedalPushin Wife!
So to celebrate, we eased into the morning, had breakfast, and then drove to Missoula to explore the Bitterroot Trail, a trail that I first saw over 20 years ago as we were driving through the area.
The trail follows the Bitterroot River towards the south although we only rode a portion of the trail. Online you will see lots of comments about how noisy the trail is and granted it does parallel the roadway but today the wind noise was on par with the traffic so we just enjoyed the ride.
Once back in Missoula we explore a few of the local trails on both sides on the river and stopped to listen to the Montana State University marching band who was practicing next to the trail.
Would I recommend this trail, yes. It’s not on the same level as the Trail of the Couer d’Alenes by any means but it is still a nice trail to ride.
Today's ride: 27 miles (43 km)
Total: 8,004 miles (12,881 km)
