Clean laundry, lovely food and drink, and a leisurely day in Fig. de Foz was just what we needed. Coimbra was not one of our original destinations on this trip, but the family we met earlier in our trip advised us not to miss this place.
Coimbra University,one of the oldest universities in the world, was founded in 1290 in Lisbon and moved to Coimbra in 1537. It is a World Heritage Site-only one of five universities in the world to receive this designation.
