Caminha to Esposende
When we arrived at the hotel in the beautiful city of Caminha, we quickly realized that only one of 2 bikes had been delivered. After contacting the company, they promised to have the bike delivered as soon as possible. Leo took off on the bike, and I took a train to the next city near Esponsende. The taxi drivers did not speak any English so I showed them the name of the hotel.
According to Leo, there were no signs on the road for the Eurovelo 1. He used google maps to follow the coastline.
Esponsende is a beautiful town on the coast with many pilgrims walking through here to get to Santiago. I wandered around town, and Leo arrived in the late afternoon. The Eurovelo route signage was what we were using to travel down the coast. The sign was nonexistent from Caminha to Esposende. Most of the bike tour operators start in Porto and cycle towards Lisbon.
