Spent: $1312.69 (food) + $1523.77 (lodging) + $203.45 (shower, donations, laundry, trail pass, wipes, antibiotic cream, admission fees, book) = $3039.91 total for trip.
To keep cost calculations comparable between this trip and previous tours, I'm keeping the on-bike touring expenses separate from those connected with driving to Omaha and back. Here are those costs:
- Gas: 827 miles, 45.0 gallons, 18.4 mpg, $3.36 average price per gallon = $151.18.
- Food: $12.29 plus $5 (breakfast July 14) + $14.55 plus $4 (supper July 14) + $12.83 plus $5 (breakfast July 15) + $5.35 (Gatorade July 15) + $14.60 plus $5 (breakfast Aug 26) + $3.31 (orange soda, cream soda Aug 26) = $81.93.
- Parking for 42 days: $252 minus $42 (coupon) = $210.
- Lodging: $6 (camping July 14) + $6 (camping Aug 25) = $12.
Total spent getting there and back: $455.11.

Yes, spending didn't get out of hand this trip. $2 for every mile I ride seems to be where I'm at now. Makes predicting costs for future trips easy.
