After a comfortable night listening to the rain off and on and feeling very cozy being indoors, we woke up to clearing weather and the promise of another beautiful day in our adventure. We started by riding back to the bridge that would take us onto the island and then decided we would go find the campsite that was 4 km east along the lake shore. That way we could check in, set up our tent and stash our gear, making it much easier to cycle onto the island and lock up the bikes whenever we were walking about.
Most of the track on Lindau Island was walking. I included it in the riding total for the day.
Now we cycled back to the island and spent the better part of the day exploring. Lindau is a very touristic island, small enough that you can explore it on foot in one day, but has so many interesting things that you could easily spend additional days.
When you first come onto the island by the main bridge, there is a beautiful park on the waterfront
As we walk (southwest) down the western side of the island, we eventually reach the westernmost point of the island where we will walk southeast toward the old harbour entrance at the south end of the island
We decided it was time for something to eat. Just in time, too, as the rain came and went while we were under the umbrellas. You can see where they have put out glasses of something sweet enough to attract and trap wasps
Ready to go the next morning. You can see I got better and better at packing the bikes over the two months of touring. This was the last morning I would be fully loading the bikes
