A Successful Conclusion
James, Jerrell's brother was able to ride bike over Monarch today. They stayed night in Salida on their way home from Montezuma. Today they drove over to the west side of Monarch and he started from there. James removed his E-assist from the bike and installed a 1x crank with a 33T chain ring on his Sequoia crank forward while here in Montezuma. His remark was, "It wasn't so bad. Not any worse than the other hills they climbed on the trip." The traffic was considerable less than on a weekend and also first thing in the morning. James rode 28.56 miles in 3:02:38 at an average speed of 9.38mph.
Congratulations to James and Jerrell for summiting Monarch on the bikes!!
