Thousand Palms
California just keeps 1) giving 2) taking 3) discouraging us. We woke today to a high wind warning and a canceled meet up with another recumbent trike rider due to the undesirable conditions.
What to do … what to do? Eat breakfast and begin checking some options was the best we could come up with. So … time to flee California and head to Arizona.

But after 30 minutes of driving and seeing some improvement in the weather … rainy weather gone … we decided to take a chance on a recommendation from our triking contact. Thousand Palms Preserve was our starting point and we headed up the road to turn west on Dillon Rd. The wind was real. But the ride back was quite nice as the wind did almost all the work.
So we leave California with only 2 rides. Not quite what we thought for this trip but gone are the days where we want to endure the stuff the weather throws your way.
