We started in Summerline which sits off the west side of Las Vegas. A dedicated bike lane followed by a nice shoulder took us to the park entrance and the “felt like” brand new pavement and a road which was 2 lanes wide but traffic only traveled in one direction. The 13 mile loop wound its way uphill for 6 miles followed by 6+ miles of downhill. As the park now uses a timed entry approach to vehicle traffic, the cars were well controlled.
Did I mention the scenery? I did have to stop twice and reset my hub motor as it was getting some odd readings and thinking it was wanting to go on strike but fixed easy enough.
The ride back to the rental went quickly but it was quite cold as the temperature never got much above 50 degrees with overcast skies. Think it is time to head south in search of blue skies and warmer weather.
