Majorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway

Time is slowly running out on this trip … only a few more days before we box the bikes and head home. Checking the weather today we found out that there was only a 104 degree difference in temperature. Sigh …
Today’s ride was one of the few this trip that wasn’t on a converted rail bed. Instead it was a Greenway which made for lots of curves, a few ups and downs, and no nearby road.
Majorie Harris Carr was quite famous in her fight to keep a canal from being built across Florida and this Greenway was named in her honor as it sits along the former proposed canal way.
The trail had moderate traffic as it is also a mountain biking destination and we saw 4 different tandem mountain setups. A new one for us. We also saw a few trikes, few roadies, and one roller blades enjoying the trail. It was a hot day however and these Alaskans did melt a bit during the heat of the day.
Highly recommend this one if you are in the area.
Today's ride: 32 miles (51 km)
Total: 634 miles (1,020 km)
