Long Leaf Trace North

After such an enjoyable day yesterday on the Long Leaf Trace, we decided to complete the northern end today. So leaving Hattiesburg from a slightly skanky hotel, something about a number in the name, we returned to our turn around spot and headed north.
You can always tell on a trail where the population centers are based on the number of trail users you encounter. We encountered 4 today and 2 were riding in much the same fashion as us. We simply had the trail to ourselves which was quite pleasant.
The ride continued in much the same fashion as yesterday with wide pavement and railroad grades and we soon found ourselves in Prentiss, the northern terminus. The ride back was equally enjoyable and the ample tree coverage kept the 85 plus temperatures well under control.
We can recommend this trail highly and are grateful that back in September on the Tanglefoot Trail in northern Mississippi that folks kept recommending it.
Today's ride: 37 miles (60 km)
Total: 430 miles (692 km)
