What's this all about?
Several times a year lately (more often now that we're retired), Rachael and I have been taking short tours close to home -3 to 5 day affairs generally, and within a day's reach from home by car or public transportation. Too short to feel like they merit a journal in their own right, but long enough that they feel 'tourish' to us - we definitely feel like we're getting a break from our normal routines, having a bit of an adventure, and generally exploring parts of our region that we didn't know as well before.
And, they're memorable enough that we'd prefer that we actually did remember them - no trivial consideration when you're as antiquated as I am. We'd like to remember the details of where we went and stayed and what we experienced, so we can relive them just as we do with our longer tours.
And, we'd like to share them. If you're not that familiar with our region, it might give you ideas. There's some pretty great riding out this way.
