Does Ferry Ride mileage count?

We started the day with another ferry ride, this time lasting 2.5 hours.

In many places there was a lot of standing water, the result of the the tropical storm several days ago. I would have thought that the water would drain quickly on a barrier island. In places an adjacent bicycle path was flooded.

Cedar Island was pretty but once again we saw a lot of hurricane damage. Many of the homes still had blue plastic tarps on the roof.

Eventually the scenery changed to a flat featureless area which for some reason was still fun to cycle through. The best picture was taken from the top of one bridge. Later in the day I could swear I saw a small dead alligator in the ditch. Probably not.

We made a wrong turn going several miles out of our way along a heavy traffic no shoulder road. Upon discovering our error, rather than backtrack on the busy road, we used our GPS to route toward Moorehead City.
