Day 72- Lochsa lodge

Short ride from Lolo Hot Springs up and over Lolo pass to Lochsa lodge.

You know you are getting close to a pass when you see this

Steve ClarkIt also seems to be an indicator of steepness. And, since you are chain driven, chaining up” sounds like good slang for climbing up mountains on a bike.

Made it to Idaho. The northern skinny part of Idaho that borders Canada is on Pacific time. As I work my way south in Idaho I will re-enter mountain time, weird

Lochsa lodge area is beautiful. The lodge itself was built in 1921 and houses the restaurant and bar. Surrounding it are cabins and a general store all located along the Lochsa river. They allow bicyclists to camp for a minimal fee. Five of us camped last night. Below is Patrick who started in Chicago and is working his way to the Pacific. Dave owned a book store in Palmer, Alaska and sold it recently and retired. He is a history buff and is following the Lewis and Clark trail.

Simon and John were best friends growing up in the UK. John moved to Idaho 25 years ago and they are still close. They have traveled to the UK/USA dozens of times over the years with their families to visit each other. They are doing the Transamerica heading west

Since the ride to the Lodge was short I decide to ride to Jerry Johnson hot springs and soak my muscles
