Day 7 - Skirting the storms

Left the hostel early trying to beat the afternoon storms. Rolled into Christiansburg at noon for some pizza and it started to pour. Bike was dry under the large overhang at the pizzeria and I was dry inside eating large quantities of food. The rain stopped after lunch and Jake and I rolled into Radford to find the local bike shop. Once again it started to pour so we waited it out in the local coffee shop. Rain stopped and we rolled to Newburn to take a hotel

Twisted (his trail name) runs the hostel I stayed at

Every convenience store I stopped in had these video gambling machines. Never seen them before

Since the Transamerica has been ridden since 1976, a solid biking community has been established along the route

Christopher GardnerHey Dave! Glad to see your trip is going well. PGA tournament underway here - rockin' about 50 degrees today?!
Still think you should have gone "electric" - but you are so damn stubborn - have to do everything the hard way.
Anyway - you look great and the pictures are fantastic (and curious).
Stay safe bro'!
Chris
