Day 44 - Shelter in place
Rolled from Eads to Ordway and went through the tiny town of Haswell. There claim to fame is the nations smallest jail

While in the coffee shop, the police called all businesses in town and told them to lock their doors and shelter in place. A man known to law enforcement (wearing an ankle bracelet) drove by a house and fired off a gun. While they were looking for him everyone had to stay put. Ninety minutes later the word came that the lockdown was over. I headed to my hotel which was 100 yards down the road and heard 3 gunshots. At the intersection next to the hotel I looked right and the police had a 2 block area cordoned off with fire trucks and a bunch of police cars. Don’t know any details past that
