Sre Ambel to Koh Kong (by minivan)
The best invested 20 dollars of our vacation!
This morning at half past nine, a young man actually arrived with a minibus at our guesthouse. The car is probably older than him - but bikes, luggage and we had plenty of room for the really nice, but quite bumpy, ride through the mountains.
For those who would like to take a similar approach - the 168 guesthouse (really nice family who runs it) is located next to the market of Sre Ambel. You pass the archway and take the right small street - some 50-100 m down the Road in the right hand side are two blue buildings - the 168 guesthouse. The English speaking daughter and her mother (?) organised everything for us within minutes.
It was actually the most beautiful, greenest, animal-richest, most varied and highest area we have seen in Cambodia.
But by bike it would have been pretty shitty for us and we could hardly have enjoyed anything - so the transport was undoubtedly the best solution for us.
Deep respect for everyone, who does this by full packed bike! 👍🏼
In Koh Kong, just before the border to Thailand, we found a pretty great room at the Apex Hotel. With restaurant, pool in the courtyard, pool-view from the room and seating right in front of the room. Actually really nice and well equipped - 16 dollars.
We already had a swim and are now chilling next to the pool until dinner.
Tomorrow we go to Thailand to the beach.
According to our sources, there are dreamlike stretches along the beach. We are happily looking forward 😁😁😁😁
But in 2 weeks we’re going to fly home again 😳

Heute morgen gegen halb zehn kam tatsächlich ein junger Mann mit einem Minibus angefahren. Der Wagen ist vermutlich älter als er - aber Räder, Gepäck und wir hatten locker Platz für die wirklich schöne, wenn auch recht holprige, Fahrt durch die Berge.
Für diejenigen, die einen ähnlichen Ansatz verfolgen möchten - das 168 Gästehaus (wirklich nette Familie, die es leitet) befindet sich in der Nähe des Marktes von Sre Ambel. Nachdem man den Torbogen am Ende des Marktes passiert hat, nimmt man die rechte kleine Straße - nach ca. 50-100 m auf der rechten Seite befinden sich zwei blaue Gebäude - das 168er Gästehaus. Die englisch sprechende Tochter der Familie und Ihr Mutter (?) haben für uns alles innerhalb von Minuten organisiert.
Es war tatsächlich die schönste, grünste, tierreichste, abwechslungsreichste und höchste Gegend, die wir in Kambodscha gesehen haben.
Aber mit dem Rad wären wir ziemlich abgekackt und hätten kaum etwas genießen können - von daher war der Transport für uns zweifellos die allerbeste Lösung.
Hochachtung vor jedem, der die Strecke mit voll gepacktem Rad fährt! 👍🏼
In Koh Kong, kurz vor der Grenze zu Thailand, haben wir ein ziemlich tolles Zimmer im Apex Hotel gefunden. Mit Restaurant, Pool im Innenhof, Blick vom Zimmer auf den Pool, Sitzgelegenheiten vor dem Zimmer. Wirklich sehr schön und prima ausgestattet - 16 Dollar.
Schwimmen waren wir schon. Jetzt chillen wir bis zum Essen am Pool.
Morgen geht es dann nach Thailand an den Strand.
Berufene Quellen sagen, dass man dort traumhafte Strecken am Strand lang fährt. Wir freuen uns 😁😁😁
Heute in 2 Wochen fliegen wir schon wieder 😳
