Waitomo to Auckland: Last ride on the North Island
After a few days of suspect weather we finally had a nice day for a bike ride. Warm temps, light winds and very little traffic. Again our guide modifiied the route to give us an extra 20km through pastural farmland. In the end we had a 70km day with 2200ft of climbing. We are now back in Auckland after 2 great weeks of cycling despite a few trials and tribulations. Patti heads home tomorrow while I fly to the South Island for more cycling. I meet up with my friend Gail from Arizona in the airport tomorrow to begin our South Island adventure. We have a few days for her to acclimatize and then we begin cycling. Stay tuned if you are so interested.
