Outer regions from Christchurch: Visiting middle earth

Today we headed to Darfield the home of my friend Susan the Holy Goalie. She has this name because she is an Anglican minister and plays goal in ice hockey. After visiting the Waimariki gorge we had pies (Kiwi fast food) from the Shefield bakery for lunch. In the afternoon we went to Castle Hill to see the very interesting rock formations. This area is also known as middle earth in the Lord of the Rings movies. After a BBQ dinner we played with Max the dog before heading back to our flat.
