I had the best camping time thus far. I slept with no rainfly as the sky was clear with Luna y astrellas. I woke up a few times the previous night just to look up and see the cielo..
I woke up early, packed up and headed down for breakfast prepared by Santiago's family. Endalada de fruitas, pan, huevo, queso y machica. This reminded me of raagi or pearl-millet drink of India.
After exploring more of finca and bidding adieu to Santiago family we hit the road. A mile of empedrado and rest all pavmento pero con muchos piedras. Lots of fallen rocks.
This was an interesting day of riding..we rode through mostly African part of Ecuador. The land was very dry, different kind of soil and lots of steep bajada followed by grande suvida. At times it felt like we were riding bici in the grand canyon as we were surrounded by huge canyons.
We lost a lot of elevation so that we could get some exercise the day after..:-(
Today's ride: 25 miles (40 km)
Total: 971 miles (1,563 km)
