The planned distance was 28 miles. There was no point in starting early. Chuck and Dave and I started about 9:30. We headed for a trail along Minnehaha Creek and then to a trail along the Mississippi through (I think) Minneapolis. It was narrow in places and had a fair number of cyclists and runners since it was Saturday. A pleasant ride. There was a detour through town and we navigated it. Later, onto the Luce Line Trail which had recently been resurfaced. That was an excellent section as there wasn't much traffic and not too many sections on the streets, plus newly resurfaced. Transitioning on and off paths is one of the more likely places for mishaps.
We got to the hotel a little after 1, where the picnic lunch was waiting. All in all a nice ride. Dinner at a very noisy sports bar and restaurant.
