Feliz Navidad from Chichen Itza

As I said on yesterday's post, today was a day to visit this Mayan sight and visit we did. You may notice there are no kms for today - that's bacause we decided against cycling down and up that wretched road on this day! It's bad enough we have to go down in the day after tomorrow, but for today, no cycling for us, just a while lotta pics!

The lineup to get in when we arrived at 8:30 was not too long. We had to wait a bit, but once we were inside, we often found we were wandering by ourselves

The big pyramid - early enough that there weren't hoards of people all around as it was before we left

At the sides of most stairways to the temples here were snake figures. The head at the bottom of the stairs, the tail at the top

So here's a fun job - hey there, climb up on that pyramid and remove any weeds you find!

Look! I think I've discovered something!

I think that's the very first Lego man!!!!

Ok, super slow internet and I'm done for this day. Tomorrow in between napping and eating and just laying around, I'll post a few more pics from Chichen Itza. Feliz Navidad!
