Heather was very proud of her coffee art. It's the Mosel River with mountains on each side, a cross section.

Looking out the back window one last time before we leave.

Another detour, but the nice thing about riding in this area is that it's not hard to find a way around it because (a) there are so many safe routes because of the infrastructure, and (b) you just follow other cyclists.

We saw swans every day.

A close up of the rock wall we rode along for a while.

The oxbows are interesting. When we were riding to the hotel, at one point we were within a distance of ~2000 feet (600 meters), but it was a 7.5 mile ride.

Does anyone else think the guy behind me looks like a spy? Or an assassin?

Calmont vineyard, at 67 degrees, is the steepest known vineyard in the world.

Across the river from the steepest vineyard are the Kloster ruins from a medieval monastery.

The funiculars will put a person in the same position as if they're taking off in a rocket.

We've been seeing a lot of these grotto-like caves, and trying to figure out what they are. Places to store grapes? Wine? Tools? Shelter for animals or humans?
Heart 2 Comment 0
None of them are very deep.

Our room in Müden at the Hotel Osterman. It was fairly warm, and they didn't have a fan to offer us, but it was adequate.
Heart 2 Comment 0
The view wasn't quite as nice as previous hotels.

Dinner at the hotel restaurant. Müden is such a small town (2.90 sq mi/7.5 sq km, pop. 674) that it's likely that the wine we're drinking (from Müden) was made from grapes grown on the hillside behind us.
