Logistics and final thoughts
There are places of interest on this trail so don't rush it. Better weather at the beginning our trip may have allowed us more time for stopping. The hotel in Niagara Falls kindly recycled my box at the beginning of my trip.I was able to get a bike box at a local bike shop in Albany.
We booked the first 2 nights of our stay, but we did not issues finding affordable places to stay along the way. Traveling in the height of the summer might be different. Camping is also available on the trail. We opted not to due to the time of year more possibility of rain and colder weather.
It is a easy riding on the canal trails. This would be perfect for a young family by shortening your cycling time and spending time exploring sights along the trail.
