Herkimer to Schenectady
Earlier in the week I thought we would never make it to Schenectady by Friday. Summer-like conditions and another tail wind sent us sailing to Schnectady. Little Falls is a beatiful community with a scenic waterfront. In Fort Plain the local advised us to go to the local diner for the daily special of mac and cheese.

Amsterdam and Pattersonville are communities on the canal worth exploring.
As we entered the outskirts of Schenectady, a cyclist on a road bike, told us to follow him to the continuation of the trail as it was difficult to find. He advised us to try to have dinner at Johnny's, one of the Italian restaurants in town.
It was Friday night and very busy. I told the host at the door that we had just cycled 360 miles on the Erie Canal. She found us a table right away! Then my sister picked us up and drove us to her place. Gail continued on trail to Albany the next morning. Having lived in the area, I cycled that stretch of the trail many times and I had to go to a reunion of college friends.
Today's ride: 110 km (68 miles)
Total: 587 km (365 miles)
