Day 21 - On past Utica
Today, the weather gods finally were with me. The wind shifted to the northwest, and the temps were in the upper 60's. I continued riding with the youngsters, and like yesterday, there was no stopping for picture taking. We set a goal of about 80 miles to a free campground at one of the locks. The surface was paved for the most part, and we shortened the distance by riding on route 5 until we reached Utica. Route 5 has nice wide shoulders, but the traffic and noise was incessant. When we returned to the trail past Utica it was pretty smooth sailing all the way to Ft. Plain where we're camped out at lock 15.
