Sully-sur-Loire to Ousson-sur-Loire

It was a chilly and blustery morning as we packed up our campsite. Leaves were falling and it felt like summer was coming to an end. However, in a few hours it started to heat up again- sunny skies and 35 C.
We chose to take an alternate route today. We rode on D 952. It turned out to be a big mistake,as the road was busy with traffic and large trucks.
A pleasant surprise was Dampierre-en-Burley. A charming little village, beautifully landscaped. The only negative was the view of the nuclear plant just outside of town.
We got back on the trail again after crossing the river at Gien.
The trail was frustrating at times as it detiorated into soft loose gravel. We then headed back to the road.
We were briefly riding along the Canal Lateral a la Loire. Lovely ride!
We are staying at a hotel in Ousson-sur-Loire.

Our campground in Sully-sur-Loire was right by the Loire River. The cyclists were given the most private and natural sites.
