Very picturesque cycling along the coast today, with only a small section on the busier roads. 

Found a free campsite at Shirahama camp site, and went to the onsen at Shirahama beach hotel. 

A very quiet hotel — if it hadn’t been for the friendly receptionist, it would have been a slightly eerie atmosphere. I was the only one on the male onsen, and there were only two other dinners that night. 

We made use of the PowerPoints after the onsens to charge our phones and I had a coke and a cold iced latte from the vending machine. 

We needed up having dinner at the restaurant. The receptionist seemed to be the only one working at the hotel — he was manning the front desk, serving food, and running various other errands. 

I think we can look over the bay and see roughly where the ferry terminal was yesterday, which is rewarding. A good two day’s cycling.
