Barely Moving Forward
Ross to Richmond

Today’s ride was what I call ‘character building’.
Big hills, persistent headwinds, distance and wind chill tested our mettle this morning. After yesterday’s blissful conditions, today was almost the opposite. The morning was especially difficult. The afternoon was ok when the wind eased and we descended towards Richmond.
We had little choice but to ride The Midland Highway from Ross. Fortunately it has been recently upgraded, and has a wide shoulder lane. Nevertheless it’s a busy road.
The B road we turned onto to reach Richmond (via Colebrook) had much less traffic, but it had virtually no shoulder. So we needed to be extra careful for this stretch.
The good news is that it’s been yet another day with no rain and great views.
And a series of downhill runs at the end of the second last day of this ride, got us to Richmond with plenty of time to spare.
Not far to go to Hobart from here in downtown Richmond. We should arrive at the ride end by midday tomorrow.
Only a few pics taken today as we were too busy trying to stay upright and to keep moving forward.
