Seville: Confessional

I have a confession to make. I forgot all about Seville! How could I forget Seville!? Its not that Seville was not boring, far from it.

We took in a night of Flamenco dancing in a little place with only a few rows of seats that were close enough to the stage that would have allowed you to touch the dancers, had you wanted to. What a great show!

I must say the highlight of the city, and maybe even the whole trip(!) was the Seville cathedral. Not for the holiness and praying, or even the plundered gold from the new world, but rather for the severed head of John The Baptist on display at the start of the tour. It was a cross between a church and a haunted house. I wasn't sure whether to laugh or to run out into the streets screaming.

In the Seville Cathedral.
That's good stuff!
I'm sure God would approve

I was tempted to buy an ashtray. There is nothing like extinguishing your butts on an item from God's House.

We enjoyed the Alcazar of Seville, which had some beautiful Moorish architecture and gardens.

And then there is the Plaza de Espana. Beautiful! Though I was expecting a lot of people. I guess we hit it on the wrong night.
