Day 24 - ending at Anderson, MO

Today was tough. From no-shoulder too-busy highways to gravel (rock) roads I shouldn't have been on on this bike. Add a going-flat tire, and no place to camp. But everything worked out in the end. And I saw some great scenery. Except there is no time for report-writing. Here's a summary for now.
Left Bernice State Park at 9:27am, heading toward Grove. First no-shoulder challenge. At bridge great bike lane. Ate lunch at Braum's at 11:17am.
Noon mileage: 11.6 miles.
South on US-59 (worst of no-shoulder riding). East on E330 Road, but bridge is out. About four-mile detour south and around. Nice riding after that, until I turned south on S690 Road at 3:53pm. Rough gravel road with hills. Very pretty, though.
Arrived at tri-point at 5:25pm. I'm in Missouri now! Rear tire at 16.5 psi. Filled back to 45 psi at gas station. Through Southwest City, and onto MO-90.
Arrived in Noel at 7:05pm, planning to camp at a canoe rental place. Not open. Nor the next, or next. Kept checking as I made my way north on MO-59. Nobody open, or can't make contact to check in.
Finally, decided to go for motel in Anderson, arriving at 9:55pm. Rear tire at 12.5 psi.
Sure felt good to get a shower and clean clothes. Re-thinking route back to Springfield, but not considering the Laurie-pick-me-up option. Bed at 1:10am.
Jeff
Spent: $7.52 (lunch) + $2.86 (chocolate milk, Gatorade) + $0.52 (Dr Pepper, ice) + $0.75 (compressed air) + $59.24 plus $5 (motel) + $1 (Dr Pepper) = $76.89.
