Rest day #6 in Mackinaw City
Kim writes:
So glad we decided on lodging for today, as the promised rain did arrive, although not all that intense. Fortunately, Mackinaw City has an optometrist and she was able to replace the lost screw on my glasses. It's reallly nice not having to wear prescription sunglasses at night.

This morning, we walked to the Michigan Visitor's Center and picked up a bunch of free stuff for the rest of our trip down the eastern side of Lake Michigan. If you stop and think about it, that's pretty funny: when you go from the upper pensinula to the lower half of Michigan, they have a Visitor's Center - like you're entering a whole new state! In a way . . . you are!
We ate lunch at Cunningham's (again), so I guess you could say that when we find a good thing, we stick with it. In the afternoon, Kim did computer work on our journal while I prepared maps for the next few days.
