Since Kim and I only faced a short day to Traverse City, we relaxed and enjoyed the local Elk Rapids Harbor Days Festival this morning. It started with us watching the local 10k/5k run that passed right down the street in front of Steve's house.

Then we pedaled into downtown Elk Rapids to eat another huge breakfast, this time in TJ Charlie's. After that, we plopped our butts down on the curb right in front of TJ Charlie's and watched the parade at noon.
The highlight of our ride to Traverse City was finding the TART - the Traverse Area Recreational Trail - another paved bikeway. We pedaled right into downtown Traverse City without seeing hardly any cars, and went straight to the house belonging to our most gracious Warmshowers hosts, Bob and Laura. After showering, we all ate dinner at the Mackinaw Brewery.
Today's ride: 20 miles (32 km)
Total: 862 miles (1,387 km)
