Darren is one serious cyclist. Check out this Surly Pugsley. I had never seen one of these before and, man, what a monster of a bike!

This morning, Darren reminded me of an old adage that I have been repeating to myself over and over and over on this trip to conserve energy. The adage was first coined by U.S. Army infantry soldiers in World War II: "Never stand when you can sit; never sit when you can lay." Truer words were never spoken!
Kim and I departed Darren's house shortly after he left for work.
We pedaled to Oconto, Wisconsin, where we ate at Crivello's.
Then we pedaled out to Oconto County's North Bayshore Park, where we got an "honor system" campsite for twenty-five dollars and a wheelbarrow full of firewood for five dollars. The entire front portion of the park was full of people and their RVs, so Kim and I were all by ourselves in the back part. After we got settled, Crivello's delivered a Chef's salad all the way out to me. Is this a great country or what? Anyway, Kim and I stumbled upon a real gem, as the park was beautiful. We were up until 11:30, staring into the campfire and talking.
Today's ride: 33 miles (53 km)
Total: 317 miles (510 km)
