This morning, Kim and I packed up and pedaled into Manistee, where we had the most awesome breakfast at "House of Flavors." There, because of my orange safety vest, the waitress thought that I was a road worker. Then we spent all day pedaling into a headwind - but on a masterful backcountry route - to finally arrive at our goal: the Dairy Queen in Ludington. Kim rewarded herself with a hot fudge sundae and I had a vanilla cone dipped in chocolate.
After that, we pedaled to the home of our Warmshowers host where it all started six weeks ago. There, Juliann Murphy welcomed us with open arms and a huge smile. Kim and I reorganized our gear, and then treated Juliann and her daughter to Mexican food as a way of saying "thanks." Now Kim's car is all packed for the trip tomorrow, as we lay on the air mattresses in the middle of Juliann's new house.
Today's ride: 29 miles (47 km)
Total: 1,022 miles (1,645 km)
