Day 29 - 46 miles Bodega Bay to Samuel P Taylor State Park Marin, CA Day 30- 36 miles Samuel Taylor to San Francisco

Day 29 -46 miles Bodega Bay to Samuel P Taylor Park-Marin, CA. I need to be honest here and say I do not remember much of this ride. I know it was not as hard as the previous three rides but it was still with the ....up, down, around and up, down, around and ......you get the idea. It was along Tamales Bay and it seemed to go forever at least 20+ miles. I had no idea it was so large. The sun was out and it was really a beautiful day to ride. We went through some really quaint little towns that seem to still have that old world charm....Valley Ford, Tamales, Point Ryes Station to name the ones I remember. Finally we were at Olema and we had to turn East to get to the park and we were in for a two mile climb! It was steep but not terrible. We took the trail off the road into the park and it was this beautiful tree lined bike trail for nearly two miles..at a slight decent! What better way to end the day. The camp ground was a beautiful redwood forest ...who knew? We were warned about raccoons and we had some night burglars even though we stored all the food in the food boxes. Seems the flower bulbs I picked up in Gold Beach were a delicacy for them. They ate them all.

Day 30 - 36 miles Samuel P Taylor Park to San FranciscoWe were blessed with another beautiful sunny day (for the most part). Headed out of camp at the usual 9'ish and started up the road towards Fairfax. We rode for about seven miles at a constant pace with NO coast at all before we realized it was a gradual up the entire way which ended at about 500 ft. We had a fast decent into Fairfax where we picked up the bike route through Fairfax, San Anselmo, Lark Spur and Saculito. We kind of knew what we were looking for and it was difficult. Sometimes the bike rout was marked and sometimes not. We finally made our way to the Golden Gate Bridge and it was a 'blast' literally going across! We were hit with gale force winds, fog, other cyclists, tourists walking and not paying attention and yes cars whizzing by!! Once across we found our way across town to where Sue lives and were treated to a great dinner with a special birthday guest Jo-Ann...Happy Birthday to you! For Gabby

This is for our Gabby!!!
