The Wellness Hotel - breakfast buffet

The breakfast buffet is quite extensive at our hotel. We will treat ourselves this morning and make our own breakfast for the other 2 days. There are  and Western and Japanese dishes, including ice cream. We know from our previous visit to choose wisely as one can’t eat it all.

Freshly made omelets and fried eggs, local freshly made juices, and tasty local dishes. Some highlights are the bowl of Okinawan soba, grilled salted salmon, dumplings, burdock root salad and tuna sashimi.

Yuinchi Wellness Hotel is located on several acres in a stunning location. Included on the property are a campground, extensive outdoor pools, a full size gymnasium, competition sized pool, a Horse Academy and more. These horses are available for rides and we watched trainers on staff preparing local riders for competitions. The horses, the recreation facilities and the onsen are available to community members and hotel guests. It is well used.

We are enjoying the view while eating breakfast. Our room also has this outlook and it is wonderful watching the horses running through the trees and their affectionate interactions with the trainers

Steamed food is a popular way to cook food in Okinawa. Veggies, meat and dumplings are offered here and they are delicious. We are remembering the delicious breakfast we had north of here at One Hundred Day Hotel. It was a set meal and everything was steamed. Yum.

The soba station has been really popular. You choose your soba noodles and then you cook them for about 10 seconds. In a few minutes, the trays will be replenished … the food just keeps on coming!

We didn’t realize that green salad with lots of toppings are so popular and so good. Salads come with breakfast, lunch and dinner. The dressings are mostly house made (love the sesame) and the veggies are garden fresh.

One can never get bored here with all of the options available to you, including the incredible onsen. But if you like, you can rent one of these e-scooters (tuk-tuk) for 2 and buzz around Nanjo and the area.

The road making its way up the middle is the road and we cycled on to get here. Initially the gradient is manageable, but it suddenly goes straight up and you can’t stop as it would be too hard to get going again. It was worth it once we got here.
