Day 38: Rain delay in Konzojicho

There was no rain at the beginning of the day, and none at the end of the day, so that was nice! I wish I could say as much for the hours in between, which were indeed typhoon-like. We chose to take the train into Takamatsu, which was guaranteed to keep us dry for at least the hour into the city and the hour returning. Takematsu is home to Japan's longest covered shopping arcade. Did you read that? Covered!

The only problem is that we're not really shoppers. We browsed and browsed and browsed. We snacked. We did some tour planning on our phones. There are other indoor activities, like the art museum, but we weren't really feeling it.

We did happen across a brass quintet performance, which was entertaining. A lot of Dixieland arrangements. Good musicians, all of them.

The weather promises to be fine tomorrow. All the campgrounds are booked up due to the Culture Day holiday, so we've settled on a hotel a few kilometers away. Our plans are up in the air. We could visit some temples and shrines, go for a bike ride, or do nothing much at all. The holding pattern continues.
