Isn’t that new titanium kettle cute. It has a bit of a pot belly! We also love these origami coffee that make a good cup of coffee. Usually 15 per bag for about $3
The cooking building is very impressive. A nice feature of the next building with the bathroom is that inside the screened door is a bug zapper that takes care of mosquitoes who have snuck in.
We are staying at Mabu Auto Camp. When we arrived we were dealing with the evening staff member and he had no understanding of English or how to cope with google translate. In frustration he would just keep talking and not listen to the translation. As you can imagine this led to chaos.
We finally got him to understand that we did not want a house or cabin. We have a tent! By this point, we were stuck with a higher priced spot. Their policy is weird..tenters camp free but you pay 1000¥ per person plus 500¥ for the tent. That is about $25. But because of the confusion, we ended up in an area with onsite electricity, so the price doubled to $50. We were just relieved to get it done.
We try to never miss a Michi-no-Eki. It is a simple way to learn about the area and the food is always good. We liked this wood craftsmen who made iphone and eyeglass holders in the shape of a cat.
Ground golf is truly a phenomenon here in Japan. The nice thing is that you can set up a course anywhere, but here is an official ground golf course. Amazing…1 club and you’re good to go.
