Off to Switzerland: Around Lake Lugano

Today was a lovely ride around most of Lake Lugano crossing into Switzerland for a good portion of the ride. The ride was much flatter today so we enjoyed the day albeit the temperatures reached 28C/83F which is pretty warm for us coastal types. The views around the lake were spectacular. We had morning coffee in Italy because according to our guide Stefano Swiss coffee is like American coffee, ie dark and dirty water. Not being a coffee drinker I don't know if he is correct or not. Our lunch stop was however in Switzerland just before we crossed back into Italy. Each day the hotel prepares a fresh sandwich specifically to our request and sends us off with a protein bar and banana as well. When we arrive back they have laid out a small lunch also by our own request. Of course there is usually a beer with the hotel lunch.
