Post Trip Shakedown: Burn off that extra energy
NOW that I have been back for a week it was finally time for a season-end ride. Generally at this time of year the weather would not permit comfy cycling. Snow is generally the norm around now. The weather gods must be happy or crazy. I was able to head out for a sunny and 15C ride. To flex the muscles and burn off energy after a week of resting and rebuilding after the tour.
As beautiful as anywhere in the world, plus with clean sweet northern air.
All was good.
I decided to take the Raleigh - which was the original plan for the tour until that idea was scuttled. Let me just say that next year's tour, wherever it may take me, will include the Raleigh. Of course, it was not laden with the weight of the bags, but still, the overall comfort level is better, it seems to roll better than the Dahon, and the gearing is lower, which would help in the mountains.
Here's to 2017 and where it will take me!
Today's ride: 18 km (11 miles)
Total: 413 km (256 miles)
