Thursday Aug 28: Istanbul
What a city - this place of somewhere between 12 and 15 million people goes forever. Nothing like what I have seen before, you can certainly tell you're not in Europe or North America.
Though I had only a few hours sleep on the plane, shortly after dropping everything off, we were off to discover Constantinople.
Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya, Topkapi Palace, rugs of all sorts and many more people selling them everywhere - shoppers who can't say 'no' beware - I am not kidding when I say that every minute or two, someone is approaching you to first ask about you, then to go to their store to maybe buy a rug, or a tile. As many as there are, these salesmen are extremely polite even when you decline their offer.
The first dinner was on one of the numerous terrace restaurants overlooking the city and the Bosphorus. Wow - I made it here!
