Day 8 - The Rest Phnomenon

Skun to Phnom Penh

An upcoming series of rest days was badly needed.  I felt better after the initial recovery but I really needed some more extended rest in a big city to recharge my batteries.  The worst was expected again today but I was pleasantly surprised with a dual carriageway the entire way to the capital city and many developments along the way.  Food was not going to be an issue, thank goodness.

Amazing conditions today

These guys really saved the day. I forgot my phone in there foolishly after getting cash and biked back later on. Security had saved it for me

At a gas station with WiFi I did some booking for a decent hotel room and was very careful in the booking procedure after the past mishaps.  I wanted to check the independent reviews and secure a place with great service and advanced confirmation.  If they had some bicycle parking even better.  I was spoilt for choice on this criteria and really lucked out with a spot that met it all.  It was then an easy matter to breeze into the city and breathe a sigh of relief.  I had made it.

Final approach into the city
